It’s that time of year again… KIDC will host it’s rather legendary fancy dress party on Tuesday 13 December 2011. Entry is free for everyone, and there’ll be a lovely Christmas spread on offer too.

No ice on 6 December
Please note there will be no public session or dance club on Tuesday 6 December, as the rink will be closed all week to prepare for the Christmas Show ‘Snow White on Ice’ which runs 9-11 December.

2011 Worlds: Davis/White win gold
US ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White won the World Championship gold after their tango performance in last night’s free dance competition. 2010 Olympic gold medallists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, from Canada, took silver with the latin-inspired routine. US team Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani took the bronze.
John and Sinead Kerr did not participate in the event, which had to be postponed after the devastation caused by the Japanese Tsunami ruled out original hosts Tokyo. The Kerrs paved the way for Penny Coomes and Nick Buckland who finished in 16th place, and Louise Walden and Owen Edwards who placed 20th.
As for Team GB results elsewhere in the competition, ladies competitor Jenna McCorkell qualified for the free skate competition and finished 24th. David Richardson missed the men’s free skate qualification by 3 places, and finished 33rd overall. Pairs team Stacey Kemp and David King missed the free program by one place, and finished 17th overall.
